Urologic Oncology Expert and Robotic Surgeon in New York City.

Over 7,000 Prostate
Surgeries Performed to Date

Dr. David Samadi is one of the very few urologic surgeons in the United States trained in oncology, open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery. He is also the first surgeon in the United States to successfully perform a robotic surgery redo. To date, Dr. Samadi has performed over 7,000 prostate surgeries. This is more than any other prostate cancer surgeon in all of New York. Moreover, in 2018, Dr. Samadi has been named one of the top 3 Urologists in New York.

Advanced Training

David Samadi completed his postgraduate training in general surgery at Montefiore Medical Center and in urology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center. He completed an oncology fellowship in urology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and a robotic radical prostatectomy fellowship at Henri Mondor Hospital Creteil in France under the mentorship of Professor Claud Abbou. Samadi is fellowship trained in laparoscopy and robotic prostatectomy surgery and is an internationally recognized expert in both fields.

The extensive training and education in the medical field of urology are a testament of Dr. Samadi’s professionalism and knowledge in the diagnosis and treatment of all urologic diseases, including urinary tract infections, bladder control problems, kidney stones, and prostate problems. His main specialty is the curing of prostate cancer, through minimally invasive procedures, such as laparoscopic radical prostatectomy and laparoscopic robotic radical prostatectomy, with a high interest in ensuring the quality of life for his patients after the surgery. The closeness of the prostate to the nerves controlling sexual and urinary functions make it difficult for surgeons to ensure their functioning at full-capacity after surgery. Dr. Samadi gives immense importance to keeping the quality of life for his patients as unaltered as possible, which is why his SMART technique aims at achieving the treatment trifecta: complete removal of cancer, sexual potency, and urinary continence.

Clinical Research

Dr. David Samadi frequently presents his clinical research at medical conferences as a subject matter expert, nationally and internationally. Over the past decade, the doctor has been actively involved in training and proctoring urologists across the country and internationally, in Greece, Mexico, Israel, Spain, Germany and more. Dr. David Samadi’s website, Robotic Oncology, has been translated into six different languages and is one of the most popular urology sites on the Internet, featuring a collection of general facts on prostate cancer, prevention, tests, causes, treatments, breakthroughs in the research field, tips on maintaining a healthy diet and lifestyle and all his public appearances and collaborations with a vast number of publications.

Fellowship and Fox News appearances

Dr. Samadi is a member of the American Urologic Association and the American Medical Association. Samadi is included in Castle Connolly Medical’s America’s Top Doctors. New York Magazine put him on their Best Doctors List in 2009. Samadi also appeared on Fox News’ Medical A-Team as a contributor on the panel, on their Sunday Housecall shows. He now films his own Sunday Housecall on his Youtube channel, where Samadi also posts relevant information on prostate cancer, healthy living and eating and latest breakthroughs in the medical field.

David Samadi’s unique approach is a personalized one. His is not a one-size-fits-all treatment. He tailors each program for the individual and personally takes care of them from day one. Every step of the way, he educates and supports his patients. He consistently follows up with each and every one of them to check on their progress. His philosophy is not letting the patient decide on treatment alone; he guides them every step of the way, ensuring support in overcoming this terrible disease.
